  • Alex has extensive experience with large scale litigation in many different fields, from initial investigation of claims and defenses, drafting complaints and answers, motion practice, discovery, and trial, and settlement and judgement enforcement.
  • Alex authored and annually updates a chapter on restrictive covenants in employment agreements in a treatise on New York Law. “Restrictive Covenants Under New York Law,” New York Business Litigation 2013-15, New York Law Journal, 2013-15.
  • Alex has moderated and participated in numerous panel programs for attorneys regarding best practices in major litigation, including related ethical issues in areas such as litigation financing. Alex was a member of his former law firm’s Conflicts Ethics and Loss Prevention Committee.
  • In recent years, Alex acted as pro bono counsel for several detainees held at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in their habeas corpus actions in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
  • Alex earned his J.D. degree, with honors, in 1989 from the Widener University School of Law (now the Delaware Law School) and a B.A. in 1984 from Swarthmore College.
  • Alex is the recipient of Martindale Hubbell’s highest rating of AV® Preeminent, an award based on peer reviews.
  • Alex is a recipient of the New York State Bar Association, 2013 Empire State Counsel® designation for his pro bono work.
  • Alex is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the Federal Bar Council, where he formerly served on the Second Circuit Courts Committee.
